Carefully curated, sustainable and loved vintage jewelry, knick knacks and baubles for your home and person.
Step into mid-century whimsy with this incredibly rare pair of vintage 1940s animal novelty brooches. Hand-painted with charming detail and fitted with their original early C-clasp pinbacks, this zebra and giraffe duo is a true slice of retro joy.
These cheerful figural pins were created during the golden age of novelty plastics — whimsical, morale-boosting jewelry that brought color and personality to everyday outfits during the 1940s. Each little creature is full of character: the zebra’s expressive eye and bold stripes, the giraffe’s sweet speckled pattern… and both still wearing their original paint with pride.

Welcome and thank you for helping us re-home these amazing little pieces of art. With your help, we ensure that these pieces keep on going from generation to generation. Disclaimer: Please note that most vintage pieces will show some sign of wear. Here at Quirkish we like our vintage pieces to look…well..vintage. We love the look of aged patina. We do not, however, love dust and gunk. With the exception of antique pieces, we give each piece a gentle bath with a light vinegar solution in our ultrasonic cleaner. If you’re purchasing a brass or silver piece, we can offer a professional polish for a $10 fee.
We sincerely hope you enjoy your trinkets and wear or display them in good health, love and prosperity.
All the Best,
Roxy
